Tas: Streeton discovered by antiques roadshow
An antiques roadshow through Tasmania has unearthed a painting by Australian great
ARTHUR STREETON.
This year CHARLES LESKI .. of Leski Auctions .. started conducting travelling roadshows
where people present their treasures for valuation .. similar to television versions of
the concept.
His most recent trip to Tasmania has effectively paid off for one Hobart family ..
who found out they have a Streeton painting called "The Rose Garden" .. believed to
date from 1913.
The painting will be offered for sale by Leski Auctions in Melbourne next Tuesday and
it's expected to fetch between 40 thousand and 50 thousand dollars.
