Fed: Hero Whiskey to receive medal
Whiskey, a blue heeler with a savage bite and even fiercer loyalty, is to receive a
police bravery award today.
Whiskey intervened when his owner, who runs a service station in Canberra, was held
up by a man with a shotgun last month.
The dog bit the robber on the leg, giving his owner the opportunity to grapple with the thief.
The gun went off, causing the robber to drop it and flee empty-handed.
ACT Assistant Police Commissioner BILL STOLL says Whiskey can get his teeth into a
year's supply of dog food, as well as his bravery medal today.
Police are still seeking the thief, described as wearing a black tracksuit, black balaclava,
and black gloves -- and a set of fang marks in one leg.
