New Malovat Art Gallery opens in Bucktown. (gallery News).(Brief Article)

CHICAGO--The Malovat Art Gallery, featuring contemporary Eastern European art, recently opened to the public. The new 2,400-square-foot Bucktown gallery is located at 1630 North Milwaukee Avenue.

The opening show featured oils by Bulgarian artist Boyko Asparuhov, as well as work by Bulgarian artists Svetlin Roussev, Greddy Haim Assa, Michail Lalov and Nikolay Yanakiey.

"The story behind Malovat Art Gallery is one of travel, art appreciation and friendship," said owner John R. Burns, a Chicago real estate investment banker for Eastdil Realty Company LLC. A long-time art collector, Burns was introduced to Asparuhov during a trip to Prague in 2000 at the gallery …
