MISTRIAL DECLARED IN SITTER'S ASSAULT CASE.(CAPITAL REGION)

A mistrial was declared Wednesday in the trial of a Wynantskill woman accused of seriously injuring an infant she was baby-sitting after jurors couldn't agree on whether a statement the woman gave investigators was coerced.

The district attorney said he plans to seek another trial.

Linette Robertson, 29, was charged with slamming 5-month-old Shane Walsh's head on a kitchen counter in apparent frustration over the baby's crying.

Robertson did not inform the infant's parents, Jerry and Deana Walsh, when the incident allegedly occurred on Jan. 10, 1997, or two weeks later when the infant violently vomited and …
